Andrew De Beaux

Andrew de Beaux is Consultant General and Upper GI Surgeon at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, Scotland.
His main surgical interest is abdominal wall reconstruction, (in addition to bariatric surgery and elective and emergency general surgery).
He is an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Edinburgh and he has written a number of hernia related chapters in surgical textbooks in addition to original hernia related research papers.

He is Past-President of the British Hernia Society (President 2016-2018 having been Education secretary for 10 years prior to this), and co-organised the second BHS conference in Edinburgh in 2006 as well as the last one in 2018.

Furthermore, Dr. Andrew De Beaux:

- Has served on a number of EHS Working Parties and Guideline Groups and became an EHS Board member in 2017 with the responsibility for Social Media.

- Is General Secretary elect for the EHS and co-organised EHS2014 in Edinburgh.

- Represents the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh on SIGN (Scottish Intercollegiate Guidelines Network) and also serves on the Strategy Group for SIGN

- Is a member of the Editorial Board of the British Journal of Surgery, World Journal of Surgery and an Associate Editor of Obesity Surgery.

- Is a proctor for the CMR Versius robot.
