Jim Khan

Jim Khan is a specialist colorectal & minimal access surgeon, currently appointed as a consultant surgeon at Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust. His specialist training included senior registrar training at Basingstoke with Prof Heald, the National Laparoscopic Fellowship at Colchester (UK) with Prof Motson and a travelling clinical fellowship at Mayo Clinic Rochester (US). He also travelled to Korea for training in Robotic colorectal surgery with Prof Kim. At Portsmouth he is actively involved in medical education and clinical training on a variety of basic and advanced laparoscopic skills courses. His main areas of interest include Robotic surgery, Laparoscopic surgery and Transanal surgery (TEMS) for rectal cancer.

Mr Khan has been a national trainer in laparoscopic colorectal surgery and European proctor and trainer in robotic colorectal surgery. His research interests include Clinical research in robotic colorectal cancer surgery, Complete mesocolic excision for colon cancer, Quality of life and functional outcomes after low anterior resection, training in laparoscopic colorectal surgery and natural orifice surgery (NOTES). He has published and presented widely at national and international meetings.
